NewCenter -- Locating the Dharma, here and now

About NewCenter
English (USA)

This list is for discussion of how to implement a Buddhist sangha that will be secular, focussed on the study of the Buddhadharma and its integration into our world view and our daily lives.

We've outlined a basic concept for the New Dharma Center, but there are a lot of questions to be decided and creative solutions to be discovered to the many problems that stand in the way of a successful implementation of that concept. This list is a beginning point for the discussion that must precede answering those questions and developing those solutions.

Eventually—sooner, hopefully, rather than later—much of the discussion that begins here will migrate to an online discussion board that has yet to be set up. Until then, this will have to do.

Please observe right speech in your posts here; be generous and gentle. If you feel you must take issue with something someone has posted, take at least a few hours, and preferably a day or so, to consider what you want to say and how you will say that. If what you want to say will not add substantially to the discussion in progress, please preserve noble silence.

Thanks for your participation.
